Goodness knows I love cooking almost all kinds of meals. Years ago, I attempted to be vegan but it was not a good choice for my health (I had chronic anemia). I immediately switched back to eating meats and dairy but I still enjoy vegetarian/vegan meals from time to time. They make good additions to my regular meals (doctors advise me to add more pounds, which means I have to eat more). On top of that, I love making them! I have to be honest though, I cannot rely on my creativity to make good veggie meals. Well, cookbooks to the rescue!

Live the Little Things: Ladies Day Out with My High School BFF

We were two teenagers who met at high school. Together we pushed through the highs and lows of high school life, went separate ways for over a decade, and somehow the universe decided to reunite us again in the town where we first shook our hands and asked each other’s name. My bestie, Vee, just came back from the United States for good. It’s been a month since she landed here and we’ve been hanging out almost every week. We live close to each other now – what a sweet coincidence.
Last week we went out to check out a spa place in Jakarta. Vee was dying to get a body scrub treatment done, which coincided with my month-long desire to get a full body massage (another sweet coincidence?). So both of us went, leaving our hubbies behind. Jokes! Our hubbies were busy that day. What was planned to be a spa date turned into a whole day of cafe-hopping, finished by a little shopping treat. It’s only proper if I call it Ladies Day, isn’t it?

Power Smoothie Recipe: Avocado Chocolate Protein Smoothie!


As the title suggests, today I will be sharing a smoothie recipe! And it’s not just an ordinary smoothie, it’s a Power Smoothie! I call it power smoothie because it gives me a boost of energy. This smoothie is very versatile, you can drink it anytime you like. For me, it’s my go-to smoothie when I want a quick breakfast or when I feel hungry during the day. It also serves as a great pre and post-workout drink. When you drink this as a pre-workout, allow at least 30 minutes for your body to digest.
